We met up as planned at the Bi Oil petrol station on the N332 as planned. Colin was a little late as he had been waiting for Ken whose bike had refused to start due to a dead battery. This week there was June, Don, Pete the Scoot, German Pete, Aad & Mieke, Kees & Karin and Colin. We had a discussion about the route as it was very windy and it may have been a bit dangerous on the open roads at the start of the route. In the end we decided to stick to the plan.

We set off up the N332 north through Oliva where we got held up for a few of minutes due to a band marching down the the main road. We continued up to Gandia and the turned off through Real de Gandia and onto the CV60. It was a bit blustery so we kept the speed down all day to 80-90kph as a maximum. As we turned off the CV60 at Montichelvo the temperature dropped considerably. We took the CV619 through Rugat, Castello de Rugat and Rafol de Salem. It was nice to see along this route that a lot of the crash barriers on the bends had been replaced with bike friendly crash barrier shielding the mounting posts. We continued on through Beniatjar and Carricola and eventually stopped in Atzeneta d’Albaida for a welcome coffee.

After coffee we went down the CV615 and dropped onto the new N340/A7 heading south. This road is still a mess at the end of the motorway section around Muro de Alcoy and Colin missed the turning onto the CV700 as planned. So we continued south to Concetaina where we picked up the CV706 towards Beniolla, we stayed on the CV706 and then on the CV710 up to the CV700 and we then turned right through Planes. Between Planes and Margarida we passed about 50 Harleys on a ride heading the other way.

We stayed on the CV700 through all the Beni’s down the Val de Galinera. As we got to Adsubia the temperature rose considerably. We stopped at the roundabout in Pego and said our goodbyes and everyone made their own way home from there.

A nice ride that was a bit cold and blustery at times of 120km’s with a couple of new roads for some of us. Next week Ondara Matinal.
