The ride this Sunday started out at Orba gas station at 10.00am.
We had a good turn out and there were 9 bikes and 1 quad with quite a few pillions today. The line up was: Ken, June, Carl with Laurie, Don (without Michele), Lodewijk, Siggi & Bella, Peter J, Kees & Karin, Aad & Mieke, Mike & Gill.
Ken took the lead and we headed off towards Murla for the start of a mountain ride that was to be about 120 kms. It was a similar route to Junes’ route of the other week. The weather was with us today and the sun shone although it was a touch nippy in the mountains.
From Murla we took the Castells de Castells road to Famorca, Facheca, Quatratondeta and then to Gorga for a coffee stop.
After coffee Mike & Gill departed for Calpe. We continued on through Beniloba, Benasau & Alcoleja to Sella. Towards Finestrat the road appeared to be closed but we took a chance. It was open and the scenery was spectacular. We continued on to Polop stopping for a final coffee. Then we took the now familiar route through Bolulla, Tarbena, Coll de Rates and then home.
One of the best rides we have done for a time. If we do this again we could stop at Sella which appeared to be worth a visit.
Thinking caps on for the next route.
